Spend a Summer Evening with Your Favorite Band at the Mid-West’s Premiere Amphitheater
Pine Knob is Just Minutes Away from Stag’s Leap!
Only 15 minutes from Stag’s Leap Farm, Pine Knob Music Theatre is the premier outdoor music venue in the Mid-West, drawing audiences and musicians from around the world. We have been honored to host traveling fans, ensuring their trip to see their favorite bands is both exciting and relaxing without the stress of traffic and travel after the show. This famous amphitheater held its grand opening on June 25, 1972, with teen idol David Cassidy, and at the time of its opening Pine Knob was the largest amphitheater in the United States.
“The Hill”
The 2024 schedule starts this month, rolling out entertainers of every genre through September! The term amphitheater is really just a fancy Greek word for an open-air venue. So, as some people get seats near the stage covered by a roof without walls, the rest of the audience sits on “The Hill.” This area is all general admission, and typically people bring blankets or low-profile beach chairs to sit on. Once you pick a spot, you can be certain to be surrounded by a bunch of new friends who all like the same kind of music and are looking to have a fun time. The social atmosphere and nature of the amphitheater’s setup is one of its greatest attributes and keeps fans coming back year after year.
Nationally, Pine Knob Music Theatre continues to rank among the top-selling outdoor concert venues in the world and has won dozens of awards in the industry, including Pollstar’s Best Major Outdoor Concert Venue (2000), Billboard’s Top Amphitheater for attendance (2011) and Pollstar’s Top Amphitheater Venue Worldwide for total tickets sold (2011, 2019, 2022)
“Top Acts”
Pine Knob is the primary Detroit-area stop for some of the biggest tours of the summer concert season. In Motown’s glory days, Detroit’s own Diana Ross often made it her hometown stop during her summer schedule. Linda Ronstadt performed there nearly every summer throughout the 1970s, 1980s, and 1990s. Michigan’s own Bob Seger has played more than 33 sold-out shows at the amphitheater, including a record 8 performances in one season in 1977, then surpassed himself with ten consecutive sold-out shows in 2015! And this year Dave Matthews Band plays again on June 26th at Pine Knob during their annual summer tour, a concert that has filled our suites at Stag’s Leap Farm year after year.
The summer season flies by fast here in Michigan, so don’t hesitate. Book your tickets for your favorite band at Pine Knob Music Theatre today, and stay with us to avoid the traffic and wake up relaxed the next morning to a great breakfast here at Stag’s Leap Farm.
