Oxford Bed & Breakfast Among Nation's Best

Stag's Leap Farm Earns Three National Finalist Nominations in the 2026 Select Registry Craft Lodging Awards

Stag's Leap Farm Bed & Breakfast in Oxford, Michigan

Stag's Leap Farm Bed & Breakfast has been recognized among the finest independent inns in North America, earning three finalist nominations in the prestigious 2026 Select Registry Craft Lodging Awards.

The Oxford bed and breakfast has been named a national finalist in the following categories:

  • Best Breakfast
  • Innkeeper of the Year
  • Best Craft Lodging Property – Central Region

Presented annually by Select Registry, the Craft Lodging Awards recognize exceptional independently owned inns, bed and breakfasts, and boutique hotels that exemplify outstanding hospitality, authentic guest experiences, and excellence in craft lodging. With more than 250 premier properties across North America represented by Select Registry, being named a finalist is a significant national honor. The 2026 nominees were announced this week through a nationwide PR Newswire release.

“We're incredibly honored to be recognized in three categories,” said co-owner Brett Rogers. “When we opened Stag's Leap Farm, our goal was simple: create a place where guests truly feel like they're visiting friends. Every breakfast, every conversation, every thoughtful touch is designed to make people feel welcomed, cared for, and inspired. To have that recognized on a national level is incredibly meaningful,” added co-owner Steven Mandley.

Located just minutes from downtown Oxford, Stag's Leap Farm Bed & Breakfast has quickly become one of Michigan's premier luxury lodging destinations. Housed in a beautifully restored 1870s Victorian farmhouse, the property is known for its personalized hospitality, chef-prepared breakfasts featuring seasonal and locally sourced ingredients, award-worthy gardens, and thoughtfully curated guest experiences that celebrate Michigan's natural beauty and small-town charm.

Best Breakfast

The Best Breakfast nomination recognizes Stag's Leap's ever-changing two-course gourmet breakfast experience, where no menu is repeated during a guest's stay. Signature dishes include Swedish Pancakes with homemade berry compotes, Cinnamon Apple Stuffed French Toast, Spinach & Artichoke Egg Soufflés, frittatas, seasonal coffee cakes, fresh fruit creations, and farm-fresh specialties prepared daily using high-quality ingredients.

Innkeeper of the Year

The Innkeeper of the Year nomination recognizes co-owner Steven Mandley for his exceptional commitment to personalized hospitality and continuous innovation. A former physical therapist with more than 20 years of experience, Steven brings a servant-leadership approach to innkeeping, anticipating guests' needs through thoughtful details and meaningful personal connections.

From welcoming guests with seasonal infused towels and locally inspired refreshments to creating unique experiences like the signature Lake Life Package and building partnerships with local businesses, Steven is dedicated to making every stay unforgettable. His leadership extends beyond Stag's Leap Farm through his work mentoring fellow innkeepers, strengthening industry quality standards, and serving as an ambassador for Select Registry and the craft lodging experience.

Best Craft Lodging Property

The Best Craft Lodging Property nomination celebrates Stag's Leap Farm's authentic sense of place and commitment to preserving its historic character while delivering a luxury guest experience. Built in the 1870s, the Victorian farmhouse features original architectural details, handcrafted cherry woodwork, six-panel doors with skeleton keys, and carefully curated artwork that reflects the owners' family history and travels.

Outside, guests enjoy more than 2.5 acres of beautifully maintained grounds, including three native pollinator meadows, perennial and rose gardens, koi ponds, walking paths, and inviting outdoor gathering spaces that create a peaceful retreat in every season.

“This recognition reflects not only our passion for hospitality but also the incredible support we've received from our guests and the Oxford community,” Rogers said. “We're proud to showcase what makes Oxford such a special destination and grateful to every guest who has become part of the Stag's Leap story.”

Since opening in 2021, Stag's Leap Farm has welcomed guests from across the United States and around the world, earning a reputation for exceptional hospitality, unforgettable breakfasts, and personalized experiences. As a Select Registry property, the inn represents the highest standards of quality among independently owned inns, bed and breakfasts, and boutique hotels.
